College Success Program

The College Success Program (CSP) at Normandale Community College serves students placing into pre-college level courses. Students who place into READ 0860 and either ENGC 0800 or 0900 are automatically in the College Success Program.

Students in the College Success Program must:

  • Meet with an Academic Advisor or Counselor before registering for or making changes to course schedule

  • Successfully complete READ 0860: Reading Skills

  • Successfully complete NCC 1000: Paths to College Success

Students will exit the College Success Program when they have successfully completed READ 0860 and NCC 1000. For information and support, contact Developmental Education Liaison Adam Rusinak at 952-358-8958 or Adam.Rusinak@normandale.edu

NCC 1000: Paths to College Success

NCC 1000: Paths to College Success is a one-credit course that assists students in transitioning from high school to college, focusing on skills and strategies needed for a successful start to college.

Students can be unsuccessful simply because they have not been able to make the transition, and not because they do not have what it takes to be successful college students.

Students often give up on college without even knowing that they could have been successful. NCC 1000 will teach students strategies for creating greater academic, professional, and personal success.
