Normandale Department of Theatre Students receive awards at KCACTF Region V Festival

Normandale Community College Department of Theatre students received awards at the Region V Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival in Sioux Falls, S.D. on January 19-24.

Abby Holmstrom was a National Musical Theatre Intensive recipient, an Open Jar Institute Broadway Intensive recipient, and an Irene Ryan Acting Award finalist. Nora Sonneborn (Best Scene Partner - final round), Sophenia Marchant (finalist) and Daniel Redfield (semifinalists) also received Irene Ryan Acting awards.

Bennett Klingman was a MTI Finalist and Michael Torsch received a Distinguished Achievement in Directing award.

The productions of Colossal/The Wolves received the Golden Hand-Truck Award for Best Load In/Out of an Invited Production. Colossal also received recognition in Achievement in Ensemble Performance & Intimacy Work and Stage Management, while The Wolves was recognized for Ensemble Performance & Character Development and Stage Management.

The Normandale Play Project, created in honor of Normandale's 50th Anniversary in spring 2019, received an Achievement in Community Engagement award, while [title of show] was recognized for Ensemble Performance and Stage Management.
