Normandale hosts Economic Outlook Event on October 29

Normandale Community College will host the sixth annual Fall Economic Outlook on Tuesday October 29 from 9:30 to 10:50 a.m. in the Kopp Student Center Garden Room. The event is free and open to the public, and is sponsored by the Normandale Economics Institute.

The speakers for the event will be Cameron Macht and Dr. King Banaian. Macht will be speaking about the "The Future of Work Automation" and Banaian will be speaking about "The Future of the State Economy".

Macht is the regional analysis and outreach manager at the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). He supervises a team of five regional analysts that provide labor marketing information to support workforce and economic development efforts across the state. He has over 15 years of experience working DEED's LMI office, as well as prior career practice in marketing, marketing research, and economic development.

Dr. Banaian is St. Cloud State University's Dean of the School of Public Affairs. He has 30 years of experience as a teacher, nine of which came as the chair of the St. Cloud State economics department. Banaian was also the District 15B representative in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2011-2013.
