Normandale students Yuan Yuan Cui and Lindsey Siegfried de Sanchez were named All-Minnesota Academic Team honorees

This past fall, Normandale Community College nominated Yuan Yuan Cui and Lindsey Siegfried de Sanchez for the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) All-USA Academic/New Century Transfer Pathway Scholarship.

Nominated students were placed into national competition for nearly $500,000 in national scholarship opportunities that was announced in late March. 

Earlier this spring, Normandale's PTK chapter recognized the two as All-Minnesota Academic Team honorees at an annual lunch. Each student will receive a $500 scholarship from the Normandale Community College Foundation.

Cui is majoring in dental hygiene and was named Normandale TRIO Scholar of the Year. She volunteers as Feed My Starving Children, Team Smile, STEMLink and at the Prince of Peace Dental Clinic. Cui was also a Donald and Ramona Johnston Memorial Scholarship recipient.

Siegfried de Sanchez lists her academic pursuits as Spanish, Economics, Philosophy and Accounting, and her career goal is to become and Immigration Lawyer. She was named to the Dean's List, and has been part of PTK, Kappa Beta Delta and Mu Alpha Theta honors societies at Normandale. Siegried de Sanchez was Vice President of the North District of the Minn-Kota region in 2018-19, Vice President of Scholarship for Normandale's PTK in 2019, and was named a 2019 PTK Distinguished Office.
